Podcast > Outrageous, Contagious Joy > Sense-ational

February 13, 2007

So many people think happiness is what it takes to get the most out of life. What they fail to understand is that happiness is fleeting—here one day and gone the next. The life God wants for us is one of true and lasting joy. But if we aren’t careful, we will encounter some dangerous things that keep us from discovering true joy.

In this message, Ed Young looks at several things that can keep us from experiencing the full potential found in a life of joy. And as we learn to overcome those things by living according to God’s will, we see that joy is really a multi-sensory experience.

Outrageous, Contagious Joy

Happiness is something that everyone wants. And we are willing to spend endless years, countless dollars and boundless energy looking for it. We think if we can just catch up to it, we will have it made. But does God’s desire for us have anything to do with an endless search for a feeling? Or is there more to it?

In this series, Ed Young takes a hard look at what happiness is and our endless pursuit of it. And as we uncover what God really wants for our lives, we see that when we move past the superficial and onto the supernatural, the search ends and life begins.

February 08, 2007

Plan early and dream big for the weekend of April 7-8! With Easter just eight weeks away, it's the perfect time to let God challenge us with what He wants to do through our churches this spring. Let's take those huge leaps to reach out to the individuals in our communities who are far away from Christ! To help out, we're featuring special savings on some of our most powerful Easter resources this month.

And be sure to share with us the exciting things you've got planned for your churches - we love to hear your great ideas!

Valentine's Day Idea

February 07, 2007

Instead of another box of chocolates this year, why not choose a gift that will strengthen your marriage? Consider this...order a copy of The Creative Marriage (it's on sale!) and give it to your spouse with a commitment to read it together. Then, schedule time as a couple to discuss your reflections and ideas you'd like to implement, whether it's inspiration for creative communication, removing roadblocks to intimacy or finding ways to master the money monster.

We'd recommend express shipping to ensure that your delivery arrives on time. And, okay, a little chocolate might not be a bad addition to your gift !

Podcast > Outrageous, Contagious Joy > Clap Your Hands

February 05, 2007

“If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands!” We all know the song. But there’s something to the song that we may have never realized. Happiness only lasts about as long as it takes to clap twice. Yet, we spend our entire lives searching for this ever-elusive commodity. But in our search, we have missed out on something even greater—true joy.

In the introductory message of the series, Ed Young takes a hard look at what God says about happiness. And we learn that when we stop the never ending search for this fleeting feeling, we can truly begin to live a life of outrageous, contagious joy.

Super Bowl Ticket Giveaway

February 01, 2007

During one of our Saturday night services at Fellowship Church this weekend, we'll be giving away two free tickets to Super Bowl XLI, including airfare and hotel accommodations. Here's a little insight from Ed on why we're doing this:

The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in America and we want to leverage that attraction to bring people to what I believe is the most important entity in the universe, the local church. This isn’t just a gimmick. It’s a way to get people to the church who otherwise might not come, so they can find real answers for real life. It’s all about life change. If even one person comes hoping to win a free trip to the Super Bowl and experiences something positive in their life as a result, it’s worth the effort to do this promotion. At Fellowship Church, we major in creativity and are always looking for new ways to connect with our culture. This giveaway is just one of many things we do to help bring people into a new or better relationship with God.

We'll also launch a new series this weekend about happiness, so be sure to stop by CreativePastors next Monday and check it out!
