Podcast > Doors > Samples of the Savior
April 02, 2007
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20). Christ invites us to dine with Him, to walk in fellowship and friendship with Him. The question is, are we doing the same with the masses of humanity who are hungry for the Bread of life? Christ was a friend of sinners. Are we? Are we inviting sinners to the table to dine with us? The church is that table and we are the hosts. And week in and week out, hungry hunks of humanity file by the table waiting for a simple invitation. In this message, Ed Young challenges us to get a little uncomfortable, to push back from the table and invite others to the meal—so that they too can eat and never grow hungry, drink and never be thirsty again. Based on “The Table” message series, this is a powerful reminder of the church’s mission and our calling as Christ-followers. Each of us has strategic opportunities to make an eternal impact in the lives of those we rub shoulders with every day, if we will simply step out of our comfort zone and give out samples of the Savior.
